Have you ever wanted to change the WP admin login screen so it didn’t look so sparse or easily give away the fact that you’re using WordPress? There are a couple of solutions for that including Login with Ajax that will give you a login widget that you can place on your published site’s sidebar or other widget area.
Another solution is the “Theme My Login” plugin byJeff Farthing. This WordPress plugin will place the WP admin login fields and options onto a blank page from your theme. So now the WP admin login page can look like the rest of your site. We’ve tried it on a few sites and it works well and surprisingly it plays nice with the aforementioned Login with Ajax. It’s plug and play but it does give you a few options under Settings so be sure to check those out.
One of the best features about Theme My Login is that it lets users define their own passwords instead of having WordPress create a random generated one. The only drawback is that you may want to use the existing WordPress new user system to validate real email addresses and that the user is a real human and not a bot trying to spam your site. But by default, Theme My Login has that feature turned off.
